About Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS)
The All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched the Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) for the academic year 2024-25. This scheme, also known as the Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme, is for students from the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. Eligibility Criteria For Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme 2024-25
- Residence: Students must be residents of Ladakh and J&K.
- Education: Must have completed the 12th grade at a school in these Union Territories, affiliated with JKBOSE or CBSE.
- Family Income: The annual family income should not exceed Rs. 8 lakhs.
- Lateral Entry: Graduates from accredited polytechnics can apply for lateral admission to engineering programs.
Exclusions: Students enrolled in open universities, those using management quotas, those receiving other forms of financial aid, those pursuing postgraduate degrees or diplomas, and those whose family income exceeds Rs. 8 lakhs are not eligible.

AICTE JK Scholarship 2024 Application Process :
Visit the official AICTE website at aicte-india.org.
- Click on the ‘PMSSS 2024-25 Registration’ tab.
- Select ’12th Registration (2023-24)’.
- Fill in the required details and click ‘Register’.
- Log in using your email ID and password.
- Enter the necessary information, upload documents, and submit the form.
Document Verification and Registration
- Visit a Facilitation Centre in J&K or Ladakh for document verification.
- Upload verified documents with stamps on the Facilitation Center’s portal.
- Obtain a document verification report after successful verification.
Choice Filling
- Access the course preference window after completing registration and document verification.
- The choice filling window will close on the specified date with no further changes allowed.
Merit List and Counselling
- A provisional merit list based on Class XII / Diploma results will be published after results are announced.
- Candidates on the merit list must attend counselling sessions.
- Seat allocation will be done through online counselling based on merit and scholarship availability.
List of Eligible Institutions / Universities
- View and select courses from a list of institutions/universities available in the candidate’s login.
- Scholarships are not applicable to institutions/universities not listed on the AICTE portal, except for specific categories.
Reservation Policies
- Reservation norms set by J&K and Ladakh UTs will be followed.
- Reservations: SC (8%), ST (10%), SEBC (22%) including various sub-categories.
- Horizontal reservation of 4% for Physically Handicapped (PwD) candidates with 40% disability and above, as per Central Government guidelines.
PMSSS 2024-25 Renewal Process
- Scholarships can be renewed for subsequent academic years based on specific conditions.
- Renewal eligibility depends on the student’s good conduct and attendance.
- Students failing to progress to the next academic level can retain the scholarship for one more year; consecutive failures will result in forfeiture.
- If unable to attend exams due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, renewal is possible with a medical certificate and supporting evidence.
- The Head of the Institution will review and approve the renewal if satisfied with the medical certificate and circumstances.
- Scholarship disbursement does not occur twice for the same academic year, even with renewal.
